Thanks to the proliferation of Protestant nonsense on the subject of the Antichrist, many Catholics have no idea that - thanks be to God - the Church has a pretty good idea of who Antichrist will be and how he will operate. I mean, do people really think that Jesus Christ, our loving Friend, would actually leave us in the dark regarding the most evil man in history?! Christ is no jerk! He clearly will reveal to the Church truths regarding Antichrist so that those with eyes to see and ears to hear will be able to recognise him, and by God's grace resist him at all costs. It should be no wonder that every Protestant prediction of who Antichrist will be have ended in completely failure. Since they don't have the light of Catholicism to take them by the hand, they go all over the place with their often illogical ideas.
Well, in September 1975, a man called Yves Dupont (an expert in Catholic prophecy) wrote an article in which he collated and summarised the teachings of various persons in the Church regarding Antichrist. I present the main (adapted) part of the work below for you to prayerfully read. If you so wish, you can see the original site HERE.
The main points I want to stress is that contrary to what some claim, Antichrist will be a single human being, not an inanimate entity like the Papacy. That is just complete rubbish. No, Antichrist will be an actual man, who will not be - as some absurdly think - the literally incarnation of Satan, as only God can incarnate into a different nature. Rather, he will be perfectly possessed by Satan, so that in all respects, he will be the son of Satan in word and deed. He will be granted miraculous powers to deceive, and he WILL deceive the whole world.
As to when Antichrist will come, only God knows. Though, I think I can safely say that we are, at least, in the dress rehearsal for him right now. Yet, how long this rehearsal will be, I cannot say. It could be very possible, given the state of things, that Antichrist will come in my lifetime. But, I am not going to make any predictions.
Note on the picture above: You notice that Antichrist is depicted in that famous painting as looking like Jesus. Yeah, that's the whole point - Antichrist will make people think he's Jesus, not only by word and deed, by he most likely will actually look like Our Lord in appearance.
NB: Apologies for certain paragraphs being cramped. When I tried to space the text out, the numbering system didn't want to co-operate. I've tried to mess around with the text, but it doesn't want to space out properly. (The numbers refer to the paragraphs below)
Antichrist will be a human being, a particular man, not a system, a regime or an ideology. We know this for certain from Scripture, from Patristic writings and also from private revelations, although the latter, alone, would not constitute a definite proof.
