ROME, May 28, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) — For what appears to be the first time, Pope Francis has openly denied that he knew anything of former Cardinal Theodore McCarrick’s immoral activities, directly contradicting Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò’s account of their conversation on the subject. “I didn’t know anything ... nothing, nothing,” Pope Francis said in a new interview published on Tuesday in Vatican News. In response, the former apostolic nuncio to the United States has directly accused Pope Francis of lying. In comments to LifeSite following the release of the interview, Archbishop Viganò said: “What the Pope said about not knowing anything is a lie. [...] He pretends not to remember what I told him about McCarrick, and he pretends that it wasn’t him who asked me about McCarrick in the first place.” [Read full article here] 29 May, 2019 (St. Mark the Evangelist) - Well, leaked correspondence betwixt Pope Francis, former Cardinal Theodore McCarrick and Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin reveal that everything Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano has testified to be true. McCarrick was indeed sanctioned by Pope Benedict XVI in 2008, that Francis knew of aforementioned McCarrick's sexual activities, and, well, the rest is history, as they say.
Now, in a recent interview, Francis has tried to claim that he knew nothing of McCarrick's sexual crimes, yet the paper evidence says otherwise. Francis also tries to play a dirty trick to discredit Vigano: he refers to a property dispute between Abp. Vigano and his brother that was settled by a Milanese court last year. Neither of the brothers have appealed the court's decision, and besides, what has a property dispute between two brothers got to do with McCarrick's sexual abuse of seminarians and altar boys? Absolutely nothing! And yet, sadly, Francis does what any person of guilt does: deflect the light to their accuser, or rather, their exposer. The continued existence of this unspeakable filth that is allowed to endlessly pollute the very bosom of Holy Mother Church is getting nauseating. I am getting sick and tired of hearing of the words Catholic priest, sex abuse and cover up in the same sentence. I am also fed up with incompetent hierarchs either doing naff all, or covering up the abuse. It is a wonder how fire doesn't come falling from the very heavens, as did in the days of the Sodomites! I have spent many hours on my knees, both in the day and during the night, often in tears, begging the Lord to bring an end to the suffering of the Church, and to end the sex abuse in the Church and to restore the Church to Her former glory and liberty as She was accustomed to in the days of Christendom. Knowing what these evil men are doing to the holy Bride of Christ - to my Holy Mother Church - makes my blood boil like Hell-fire. Something needs to be done to end this abuse, and it needs an iron hand to come crashing down on it all. I do not joke when I say that, in my opinion, we need a new Inquisition, and proper punishments need to meted out to these sons of Satan.
