Commentary #18: Some Crazy Anti-Catholic Conspiracy Theories

Naturally, many anti-Catholic conspiracy theories exist out there, usually created by Protestants and usually involving the Jesuits. Many of them are borne out of a hatred for the Church, or more correctly, for the parody of the Church that most Protestants hold. Secondly, I suspect that many of these conspiracies are created as a way for Protestants to justify their separation from the Catholic Church. For, if the Catholic Church is the one true Church of Jesus Christ (and it is, by the way!), then why are the Protestants not in communion with Her? Bit of an awkward situation for them, isn't it? 

Below are some conspiracy theories invented by Protestants against the Catholic Church. There are numerous of these theories out there, and I suppose more are being formulated because, as the adage goes: there is a sucker born every minute! 

Jamestown Massacre - According to proponents of this theory, Jim Jones was a Jesuit who was working on a Vatican plan that sought to discredit Protestant churches by setting up a small fundamentalist cult and lead them to mass suicide by drinking poisoned Kool-Aid. Evidence for this theory usually are: Jones' association with a Father Divine, a charismatic preacher who claimed to be the Second Coming of Christ, whose message borrowed from Protestantism and - you guessed it - Catholicism. So that definitely makes him a Vatican agent, doesn't it?! Also, Jones' meetings with the Jesuit-trained California Governor Jerry Brown and First Lady Rosalynn Carter are also evidence he was a Vatican agent working to overthrow Protestantism. Jones may have had his cult drink Kool-Aid, but those who propose this theory are drinking something stronger!

Creating Islam - I kid you not, many Protestants believe Islam was created by the Catholic Church. In fact, I regularly see this kind of conspiracy in the comments of a particular YouTube channel I frequently watch. This theory was coined by Dr. Alberto Rivera, a con-man who claimed to be a Jesuit spy. Jack Chick, an anti-Catholic Protestant, accepted the Doctor's claims as true (despite his history of fraud) and began disseminating them. In short this theory claims that the Pope wanted Jerusalem, so he sent a wealthy nun named Khadijah to marry Muhammad, turn him into a prophet and then establish an a religion with an army to sic it on Jerusalem to take it. The Pope supplied the Muslims with weaponry to take the city. The Muslims decided to keep the city, so the angry Pope called the Crusades to take the city. The evidence? Conveniently it has never been seen, and so the whole ridiculous lie is based on a fraudster's claims.

As expected, there are several problems with this crack-pot theory, namely that Muhammad was born during the Pontificate of Pope John III, in c.570, and lived under the Pontificates of Popes Benedict I (575-79), Pelagius II (579-90), St. Gregory I (the Great) (590-604), Sabinian (604-606), Boniface III (607), St. Boniface IV (608-15), St. Deusdedit (Adeodatus I) (615-18), Boniface V (619-25) and Honorius I (625-38), ending with his death in AD 632. So every Pope in this list is involved with this conspiracy. And quite frankly, damned be I should I believe that St. Gregory the Great was involved in such a conspiracy!

Not only that, but there is roughly 500 years between the death of Muhammad and the First Crusade, thus requiring further Popes to be complicit in the conspiracy until Bl. Urban II decided to call the Crusades. Some conspiracy! I bet, at some point, Jesuits are involved - they usually are (even though they weren't founded until the 1500's, but let's not let facts get in the way of a good Anti-Catholic Conspiracy)!

President Lincoln's Assassination - Did you know Honest Abe was assassinated by - guess who - the Omnipresent, Omnipotent Jesuits? Well, that's the Protestant version of the story. In reality he was assassinated by the 26 year old John Wilkes Booth.

Apparently, Honest Abe came up against some not-so-honest Jesuits, and when he angered them, they decided to have him killed. The story revolves around an ex-priest turned anti-Catholic, who claimed he was slandered after he tried to reveal corruption in the Church (what, like today, you mean? My, how history repeats itself!), and he sought the help of a lawyer by the name of Abraham Lincoln, who so greatly defended the ex-priest that he incurred the ire of the Mighty Men-In-Black. In reality, Lincoln was court-appointed and had the case dropped. Whoops! Also, the theory goes on to say that the Vatican was backing the Confederacy in order to overthrow the Union and establish a Papal dictatorship. Naturally!

Sinking the Titanic - So, this theory claims that the All-Mighty Jesuits had the Titanic sunk so they could build the Federal Reserve in the Unites States, and use it for World Domination. Here is the story:

As the story goes, in 1910, representatives of the Rockefellers, the Rothschilds, and J.P. Morgan (all rich, all powerful, all members of the Illuminati) met to discuss the creation of the Federal Reserve Bank. The Jesuits planned to use this central banking system to finance their evil schemes of world domination. However, the Vatican knew their plan would be opposed by John Astor, Benjamin Guggenheim, and Isador Strauss, three of the richest men in the world. So, logically, these guys had to die, and they had to die in the craziest way possible so no one would ever suspect foul play. The Jesuits ordered J.P. Morgan, owner of White Star Lines, to build the Titanic. Astor, Guggenheim, and Strauss were all invited to sail on the unsinkable luxury liner, unaware the voyage would mean their deaths.

The whole plot hinged on the actions of Edward Smith, captain of the Titanic. As the story goes, Smith was actually a “Jesuit tempore co-adjator” which is basically a guy who has sworn his life to the Jesuit order. His mission from God was to intentionally ram the Titanic into an iceberg and kill everyone aboard. It didn’t matter that many of the passengers were Catholic immigrants. In fact, the Vatican intentionally filled the ship with Church members in order to deflect suspicion from the Jesuits.

Finally, on April 15th, 1912, Smith made his move. He steered the Titanic into an iceberg, sinking the ship and drowning Astor, Guggenheim, and Strauss. The Church’s enemies had been eliminated, and by December 1913, the Federal Reserve System was in place. The Jesuits would now be able to finance their dreams of taking over the world.

Boy, these Jesuits are pretty busy men, aren't they? It's amazing how they are able to be so heretical these days, what with all this World Domination business! 

Creating Communism & the Nazis & Atomic Bombing Japan - Yep, Uncle Joe and the Fuhrer were puppets of.............THE ALL-MIGHTY JESUITS! According to this story, Rome was still bitter over the "Orthodox Churches" breaking away. So, after 1,000 years the Vatican came up with a plan.

​The Jesuits planned to stage a communist coup in order to murder the Patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church and depose his protector, Czar Nicholas II. Key Communists like Marx, Engels, and Lenin were supposedly controlled by the Jesuits, and the Bolsheviks were supported by the Federal Reserve Bank. After Lenin’s ascension to power, the Czar and his family were imprisoned and eventually executed by the Jesuits themselves.

However, the whole thing backfired thanks to the Patriarch, who had learned the location of the Czar’s secret treasure trove. When the Bolsheviks finally decided to kill him, the Patriarch greeted them with a smile and a big pile of gold. They were so happy that they decided to let him live, and the Pope’s scheme was thwarted.

When communism failed, Rome dreamed up another –ism to crush its Orthodox opponents—Nazism. The Jesuits took wannabe artist Adolf Hitler and turned him into a dictator. They wrote his autobiography Mein Kampf, financed his government with loans from the Federal Reserve Bank, controlled the Gestapo, and supplied the Nazis with crucial information gained from Catholic confessionals. They also set Mussolini up in Italy and Franco in Spain in the hopes that these three would rule the world in the name of the Pope.

In addition to wiping out the Orthodox Church, the Jesuits also planned to persecute the Jews, though conspiracy theorists differ on why. Some suspect it was to keep the Jews from controlling Israel, while others think it was to force the Jews to return to Palestine, where they would get involved in a long war with the Arabs. The Pope would then visit the Holy Land, unite the two groups, and be hailed as a hero. But just in case the Axis Powers lost, the Pope hid over 1,000 Jews to cover his tracks.

Another alleged goal of World War II was to punish Japan. During the 1500s, the Japanese government expelled the Jesuits from its shores. According to one theory, the Catholic Church responded in a Christ-like manner by having atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

It never ceases to amaze me as to what these Jesuits can do! 

​Other conspiracies include the Catholic Church: Starting the Vietnamese War, assassinating President Kennedy of the United States, planning World Domination, ordering 9/11, and preparing for an alien invasion. Obviously, the Jesuits are the main instigators of all these events. You have to give to Protestants, they have very imaginative minds.

Shame they can't tell fact from fiction, though. 

BTW, I'm a Jesuit. Just kidding...................or am I?!
