Grant, O Lord, Thy blessing.
May the Almighty Lord grant us a peaceful night and a perfect end.

1 Pet. 5:8-9: Be sober and watch: because your Adversary the Devil, as a roaring lion, goeth about seeking whom he may devour. Whom resist ye, strong in faith.

Now on us, O Lord, have mercy. Thanks be to God.

+ Our Help is in the Name of the Lord. Who hath made Heaven and earth.

An examination of conscience takes place silently. Afterward, bowing , say the Confiteor below:

I confess to Almighty God, to Blessed Mary ever Virgin, to Blessed Michael the Archangel, to Blessed John the Baptist, to the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, and to all the Saints, that I have sinned exceedingly in thought, word, and deed, (strike breast three times) through my fault, through my fault, through my most grievous fault. Therefore I beseech Blessed Mary ever Virgin, Blessed Michael the Archangel, Blessed John the Baptist, the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, and all the Saints, to pray for me to the Lord our God. Amen

May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and raise us to Life Everlasting. Amen.
+ May the Almighty and Merciful Lord grant us pardon, absolution, and remission of our sins. Amen.

+ Convert Thou us, O God, Our Saviour. (On the breast)
And avert Thine anger from us.

+ O God, come to my assistance.
O Lord, make haste to help me.

Glory be to the Father, and to Son, and the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Alleluia (Outside of Lent)
Praise be to Thee, O Lord, King of Everlasting Glory (During Lent)

Antiphon: Have mercy on me, O Lord, and hear my prayer.

Say Psalm 4, Psalm 90 and Psalm 33.

After each Psalm, say the Glory be...

Antiphon: Have mercy on me, O Lord, and hear my prayer.

Ant: Protect us, O Lord, whilst we are awake, and safeguard us whilst we are asleep, that we may keep watch with Christ and rest in peace. (In Eastertide: Alleluia)

+ Now dost Thou dismiss Thy servant, O Lord, in peace: according to Thy Word.
For mine eyes have seen: Thy Salvation.
Which Thou hast prepared: before the face of all people.
A Light to enlighten the Gentiles: and the glory of Thy people, Israel.

Glory be...

Ant: Protect us, O Lord, whilst we are awake, and safeguard us whilst we are asleep, that we may keep watch with Christ and rest in peace. (In Eastertide: Alleluia)

O Lord, hear my prayer.
And let my cry come unto Thee.

Let us pray:

Visit, we beseech Thee, O Lord, this habitation, and repel all the snares of the Devil far from it: let Thy holy Angels dwell herein, to guard us in peace; and may Thy Benediction be always upon us. Through Our Lord Jesus Christ, Thy Son, Who Liveth and Reigneth with Thee, in the Unity of the Holy Ghost, God, world without end. Amen

O Lord, hear my prayer.
And let my cry come unto Thee.

Let us bless the Lord.
Thanks be to God.

May the Benediction and Custody of the Almighty and Merciful Lord be upon us: + the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen

Next, an Anthem to the Blessed Virgin Mary is sung/said according to the liturgical season.

Anthem No 1 - Alma Redemptoris Mater
Sung from the 1 st Sunday of Advent through 1 st February

Holy Mother of our Redeemer, thou Gate leading to Heaven and Star of the Sea; help the falling people who seek to rise, thou who, all nature wondering, didst give birth to thy Holy Creator. Virgin always, hearing the greeting from Gabriel’s lips, take pity on sinners.

Anthem No 2 - Ave Regina Caelorum
Sung from the Purification (Feb 2) through Wednesday of Holy Week

Hail, Queen of Heaven, hail Lady of the Angels. Hail, Root, hail the Door through which the Light of the world is risen. Rejoice, Glorious Virgin, beautiful above all. Hail, O Very Fair One, and plead for us to Christ.

Anthem No 3 – Regina Caeli
Sung from the Vigil of Easter through Friday within the Octave of Easter

Queen of Heaven, rejoice, alleluia; for He whom thou was chosen to bear, alleluia; has Risen as He said, alleluia; pray for us to God, alleluia.

Anthem No 4– Salve Regina
Sung from Saturday in the Octave of Easter through Friday before the 1 st Sunday of Advent

Hail Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, hail our life, our sweetness, and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this vale of tears. Turn then, O Most Gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy towards us. And after this, our exile, show unto us the Blessed Fruit of thy Womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.
